Mr. Nelson has been the senior psychometrician at the Bryan Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center since 1992. He is a certified phlebotomist. He has served as the Program Coordinator for the Center’s African American Community Outreach Program.
Prior to coming to Duke, he had extensive experience as a counselor in the U.S. Air Force Mental Health Services that exposed him to a variety of personalities and cultures. That exposure enhances his ability to establish rapport with the Center’s diverse population of clinical and research subjects resulting in productive patient and participant interactions.
