PREPARE

The Bryan ADRC Prevention Screening Study & Database/Repository (the PREPARE study) is a privately funded study designed for three purposes:  1) to pre-screen a large diverse community population and to discuss opportunities to participate in anticipated future studies to safely promote brain health and prevent AD dementia, 2)  to learn more about the relationship of inherited AD risk factors and health conditions as both relate to memory problems in the community sample, and 3) to store the memory and health information and the blood samples for use in this study and in future research studies.
As of April 2013, over 1300 participants have enrolled and been seen for a research visit at the Duke Memory Disorders Clinic.  All individuals who provide their names and contact information to the Alzheimer’s Disease Prevention Registry are contacted regarding PREPARE participation.
